It’s a growing worldwide phenomenon, but there are still a lot of places in the world where Angry Birds is a new thing that nobody’s ever heard of. To help spread the word, Rovio has teamed with Deutsche Telekom and created a viral-worthy rendition of the Angry Birds world in the real-world. The town of Terrassa, Spain, has put together a massive meatspace version of Angry Birds, with a destroyable level, exploding pigs, and soccer ball-sized Angry Birds. Best of all, the whole thing was caught on video, flash mob included!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZgsyCHdIiPgIt’s just a shame nobody brought Angry Bird cupcakes along for the show!
The creation is the brainchild of Deutsche Telekom and Rovio, who came together with the town of Terrassa to put together the huge analog version of Angry Birds. The crowd is mostly paid extras with a few legitimate people mixed in. A local jazz band was hired to play the theme music during the video shoot/advertisement. Hopefully, this will get the word out about the Birds in Spain, because I don’t want America to be the only country obsessed with this goofy little game.
