Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games

Let the year of butt-kicking female heroes begin!  First, you had the trailer for Snow White and the Huntsman, starring Kristen Stewart and Chris Hemsworth.  Now, you’ve got Thor’s little brother, Liam Hemsworth, and Jennifer Lawrence taking on the task of bringing the international best-selling novel The Hunger Games to life on the big screen.  Here’s the first trailer for The Hunger Games; tell me that’s not an epic trailer.

Now, I don’t know anything about the books on which The Hunger Games is based, nor do I really understand the universe (aside from it being an American version of Battle Royale), but I have to admit this cast is stellar.  From Jennifer Lawrence (a hometown Louisville girl made good) to Elizabeth Banks (a personal favorite), Woody Harrelson, and of course, an epic voice-over from Donald Sutherland, the adventures of Katniss Everdeen look like something I could be on board with.
