The idea that people can fly through the air in big metal tubes is still kind of amazing, even though those tubes occasionally fall out of the sky.  There are a lot of dramatic plane crashes, and they get way more coverage than they should because of the scope of them, but it’s not often that a plane crash is caught on video.  Sometimes there will be stories afterwards, but rarely is a crash caught happening on tape.  TransAsia flight GE 235’s amazing crash was caught on dash cam video by a driver in the capital of Taipei, Taiwan.  Here’s the video.  Prepare to be amazed.

I think the most amazing thing about this video, and this crash, is that there are actual survivors.  Of the 58 people on board the TransAsia flight, there are 15 survivors, and 12 missing, with 31 deaths.  It’s a plane that clips a freeway and crashes into a river; no one should have walked away from that, but the cab driver hit by the plane’s wing is fine.  That there are other survivors is just amazing.
