The world's first animated tattoo?

When it comes to tattoos, people are always pushing the boundaries of what can be done with the art.  From unusual tattoo locations to unusual tattoos to digitally-powered tattoos, people are getting very creative as tattoos lose their stigma.  There’s only one more place for tattoos to go, and a tattoo artist named K.A.R.L. has gone interactive, creating the world’s first video tattoo.

While the tattoo itself doesn’t move, it contains a QR code that, when scanned with a smart phone, takes interested parties directly to a video on YouTube that features, well… you’ll see it.

Is it a hoax, or is it real?  I guess we’ll find out soon, right?  Here’s hoping it’s real, because the idea behind it is awesome (and it seems like it could work in real life).  You can find more about Karl Marc, the man who created the tattoo, at his official website.  You can get a tattoo from Karl at the Mystery Tattoo Club in Paris.  Maybe he can give you that video-powered Chocolate Rain tattoo you’ve always wanted!
